Explanation

(This amendment provides $543,010 GF the second year to increase the number of slots from 50 to 60 for Virginia students applying to the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. The amount of funding is the difference between the out-of-state tuition and in-state tuition. This is a recommendation of the Senate Joint Resolution 15 (2024 General Assembly Session) study to address the shortage of large animal veterinarians.
