Page 33, after line 27, insert:

"U. The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court shall assess the cost and feasibility of providing a unified efiling system for civil and criminal cases in circuit courts and requiring each circuit court to use the unified system. The assessment shall update the information in the 2018 report on statewide electronic filing of civil cases in circuit court submitted pursuant to Chapter 2, 2018 Special Session I, Acts of Assembly, and provide the updated assessment to the Chairs of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance and Appropriations Committees by November 1, 2026."



Explanation

(This amendment directs the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court to provide an assessment of the cost and feasibility of providing a unified efiling system for civil and criminal cases in circuit courts and requiring each circuit court to use the unified system. The assessment should include an update of the information provided in a similar report from 2018.)
