Page 579, after line 10, insert:

"Virginia Military Institute (VMI) is authorized to, subject to, and contingent upon, written consent of the Governor and any required approval by the Office of the Attorney General, accept at no cost to VMI, the gift, by transfer and conveyance of fee simple title to VMI, from the VMI Foundation acting through Neikirk Holdings, LLC, of two (2) parcels totaling approximately 0.09 acres lying and being in the City of Lexington, Virginia, together with any improvements thereon and appurtenances thereunto, which parcels of land are more particularly described as follows:

That certain undeveloped parcels of land located at 8 Massie Street and IO Massie Street in Lexington, Virginia consisting of two (2) vacant lots totaling approximately 0.09 acres adjoining VMI owned property.

VMI has determined that its best interest will be served by accepting the gift of such property from the VMI Foundation. Additionally, acquisition of additional land contiguous to existing VMI properties is in keeping with the intent of the Post Facilities Master Plan. The acquisition of the parcels shall be subject to such terms and conditions as are deemed appropriate by the Governor and Attorney General of Virginia."



Explanation

(This language amendment authorized the Virginia Military Institute to accept, upon approval as needed by the Governor and/or Office of the Attorney General and at no cost to the institute, a gift of land adjacent to its campus. The land is currently owned by the VMI Foundation.)
