Explanation

(This amendment provides an additional $10 million from the general fund each year for the Virginia Agricultural Food Assistance Program. The Program is administered by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to support farmers and growers in their donations to food banks and at farmers markets where families receive additional value for expenditures from SNAP benefits. This request is a recommendation of the Virginia Commission to End Hunger.)
