"L. Out of this appropriation, $50,000 the first year and $50,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided pursuant to the passage of House Bill 1012 of the 2026 session which requires the Department, when providing snow and ice removal services in Planning District 8, to prioritize the removal of snow and ice from all "school access corridors" as defined in the legislation."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $50,000 from the general fund in each year of the biennium pursuant to the passage of House Bill 1012 of the 2026 session. The bill defines "school access corridor" as a sidewalk, crosswalk, or portion thereof that is (i) maintained by the Department, (ii) on or adjacent to a primary or secondary highway, (iii) located within a half mile of a school, and (iv) widely used by students to walk to or from such school, as determined by the Department. The bill then requires the Department, when providing snow and ice removal services in Planning District 8, to prioritize the removal of snow and ice from all "school access corridors".)
