Explanation

(This amendment provides $50,000 from the general fund each year of the biennium pursuant to the passage of House Bill 1224 which expands from 60 days to 90 days the length of time an applicant for a first-time noncommercial driver's license who is at least 18 years old and not more than 21 years old is required to hold a learner's permit prior to taking their driver's license exam. The funding included in this amendment is a placeholder until a detailed fiscal analysis of House Bill 1224 is completed.)
