"E. Out of this appropriation, $50,000 the first year and $50,000 the second year from the nongeneral fund is provided for the study described in this paragraph. The Common Interest Community Board shall commission a study to evaluate the policies of property owners' associations in the Commonwealth, as defined in § 55.1-1800 of the Code of Virginia, to determine if such policies have restrictions preventing an individual from erecting a charging station to charge an electric vehicle when (i) such individual does not own the property where the electric vehicle charging station would be located or (ii) there is no common owner in the area between the location of the proposed electric vehicle charging station and the location where the electric vehicle would be parked."



Explanation

(This amendment requires the Common Interest Community Board in the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation to study policies that prevent individual homeowners from constructing EV charging stations and provides $50,000 in each year from the nongeneral fund to support the completion of the study.)
