Explanation

(This amendment provides $1.0 million each year from the general fund for DSS to create and administer a food assistance program like SNAP to provide state funded food assistance to individuals who meet all other eligibility requirements for SNAP, but are no longer eligible due to being a refugee, asylee, or humanitarian parolee. These statuses are newly barred from receiving SNAP benefits due to federal changes from HR 1.)
