Explanation

(This amendment provides $840,000 from the general fund each year to fund the fiscal impact of House Bill 996, which directs the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services, in collaboration with the Department of Education, to develop and implement a plan to expand the Postsecondary Education Rehabilitation Transition (PERT) Program to increase the number of students assisted in the transition from high school to postsecondary programs. The PERT Program is a school-to-work transition initiative supported by the Department of Education and administered through the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services at the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center. PERT Program services are provided on the WWRC Campus where students reside in a dormitory.)
