Explanation

(This amendment strikes language contained in the introduced budget that eliminates inflation adjustments for hospital rates, freestanding psychiatric facilities, disproportionate share hospital payments, graduate medical education payments, nursing facilities and any other provider rates for fiscal years 2027 and 2028 and restores funding of $238.2 million from the general fund and $465.9 million from nongeneral funds over the 2026-28 biennium. The amendment also strikes language which directs the Department of Medical Assistance Services to exclude the value of the withheld inflation adjustments for fiscal year 2027 and fiscal year 2028 from future inflation adjustments and rebasing of hospital and nursing facility costs.)
