Explanation

(This amendment provides $245.8 million the first year and $435.2 million the second year to support additional child care subsidy slots and to rebenchmark per-child rates to reflect the current estimated cost of quality child care. Of these amounts, (i) $119.4 million each year is provided to eliminate the waitlist for access to the subsidy program, (ii) $189.4 million the second year is provided for additional slots to increase access for eligible families in the second year from 42% to 50%, and (iii) $126.4 million each year is provided to rebenchmark per-child rates for subsidy slots.)
