Page 175, line 19, after "aides", insert "high-dosage tutoring".

Page 175, after line 24, insert:

"The Department of Education, in partnership with the Virginia Literacy Partnerships at the University of Virginia, shall establish a review process for high-dosage tutoring providers seeking approval under the Virginia Literacy Act for Early Intervention Reading Initiative funding eligibility. Such review process shall be completed no later than December 1, 2026.  "High-dosage tutoring" shall mean daily one-on-one tutoring delivered virtually by a trained tutor for up to 75 minutes of instructional time per week for a full school year."



Explanation

(This amendment expands the authorized uses of Early Reading Intervention funds to include high-dosage virtual tutoring and establishes an approval process for potential providers. Currently, these funds are limited to in-person support and computer-based tutorial programs.)
