Explanation

(This amendment adds language prohibiting the charging of fees to provide sample slides used to determine the cause of death for scientific research purposes. Currently the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner charges $50 per sample or slide which can be cost prohibitive when families choose to participate in scientific research to help determine unexplained causes of death and further research to prevent future occurrences.)
