"7. To enhance the penalty for assault or bodily wounding or stalking of any person protected by a protective order, pursuant to House Bill 610 of the 2016 Session--$3,147,902."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $3,147,902 GF the first year for the required deposit into the Corrections Special Reserve Fund, to reflect the corrections bed space impact of HB 610, concerning assault or bodily wounding or stalking of any person protected by a protective order.   The impact statement prepared by the Virginia Criminal Sentencing Commission projects this legislation would result in the requirement for an additional 100 beds in the Department of Corrections.  This amendment is contingent upon final passage of HB 610.)
