"40. Advanced Placement Grants

This appropriation includes $500,000 each year from the general fund for competitive AP start-up/expansion grants to assist school divisions in offering AP courses not currently available or in offering additional sections to accommodate all interested students.  Grant activities may include teacher and administrator professional development; PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 8/9; course  materials; AP Insight; AP/Project Lead the Way and AP/Code.org pathways; and AP exam fee waiver gap for low income students and other recruitment and preparation efforts.)



Explanation

(This amendment adds $500,000 each year to provide competitive AP start-up/expansion grants to assist school divisions in offering AP courses not currently available or in offering additional sections to accomodate all interested students in order to increase access across the state.)
