Explanation
(This amendment provides $476,945 and five positions each year from the general fund to raise the Virginia minimum wage above the federal minimum wage $7.25, which is currently prescribed by the U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act, to $8.00 per hour in FY 2017, $9.00 per hour in FY 2018, and $10.10 per hour in FY 2019, as required by SB 129. This amendment is contingent upon final adoption of SB 129 by the 2016 General Assembly.)
