Explanation

(This amendment is the companion to Senate Bill 151 which would create a tax credit of up to $500 for teachers who paid for materials used in teaching students. The credit would be available starting with taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2017. This amendment reflects the impact of the new tax credit, which would reduce GF revenues beginning in FY 2017. The amount of the reduction cannot be determined until the Department of Taxation issues a Fiscal Impact Statement.)
