"9. Out of this appropriation, $1,000,000 from the general fund the first year for a one-year pilot project to provide peer-based recovery support programs for incarcerated individuals with substance use disorder in 10 localities.   The programs shall be located in the Cities of Abingdon, Lynchburg, Richmond and Winchester; the Counties of Caroline, Hanover and Henrico; and the Northern Virginia region, the Tidewater region, and the Martinsville/Danville region."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $1.0 million from the general fund the first year for 10 peer-based recovery support programs for one year to provide jail and prison inmates peer-based recovery services. The programs would be led by individuals in recovery and would target individuals with substance use disorder and an extensive history of criminal justice involvement. )
