Explanation

(This amendment provides an appropriation to the Corrections Special Reserve Fund to reflect the estimated impact on utilization of beds in the Commonwealth’s Adult Correctional Centers resulting in changes in criminal sentencing pursuant to House Bill 769. which extends the statute of limitations to one year after the victim reaches 18 years of age for misdemeanor violations of the several sexual crimes against minor. Under existing law, there is a one-year statute of limitations on most misdemeanors.)
