Explanation

(This amendment provides an appropriation to the Corrections Special Reserve Fund to reflect the estimated impact on utilization of beds in the Commonwealth’s Adult Correctional Centers resulting in changes in criminal sentencing pursuant to House Bill 1195, which removes the requirement that a threat of death or bodily injury be communicated in a writing for the offense of threatening to kill or do bodily injury to a person or any member of his family or for the enhanced penalty for threatening to kill or do bodily harm at a school, on a school bus, or at a school-sponsored event.)
