Explanation

(This amendment provides an appropriation to the Corrections Special Reserve Fund to reflect the estimated impact on utilization of beds in the Commonwealth’s Adult Correctional Centers resulting in changes in criminal sentencing pursuant to House Bill 439, which increases the mandatory minimum sentences for use or display of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies from three to five years for a first offense and from five to ten years for a second or subsequent offense.)
