Explanation

(This amendment provides an appropriation to the Corrections Special Reserve Fund to reflect the estimated impact on utilization of beds in the Commonwealth’s Adult Correctional Centers resulting in changes in criminal sentencing pursuant to House Bill 1106, which provides that any person who violates the prohibition of transportation of firearms following conviction for misdemeanor sexual battery or assault and battery where the victim is a family or household member is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.)
