Explanation

(This amendment provides $500,000 each year from the general fund to provide competitive grants to school divisions for either Start-up or expansion of existing offerings of AP courses in the schools. Grant activities may include AP and pre-AP teacher and administrator professional development; PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 8/9 which provides AP potential to identify and recruit AP students; course materials; AP insight; implementation of AP/Project Lead the Way and AP/Code.org pathways; and AP Exam fee waiver gap for low-income students and other recruitment and preparation efforts to increase student participation and engagement.)
