Explanation
(This amendment reduces $1.7 million from the general fund each year and $0.6 million the first year and $0.6 million the second year from nongeneral funds for the recruitment and retention of foster parents. The introduced budget included $6.9 from the general fund for 15 foster family recruiters, 10 Finding Families specialists, funding for localities to support foster families, special equipment funding, and coordinators. The remaining $3.5 million from the general fund includes funding for foster family recruiters, finding family specialists, and local funding to support foster families in order to improve the utilization of family-based foster care and lessen the reliance upon more expensive residential care.)
