Explanation
(This amendment provides funding to add 65 new slots to the Mental Retardation (MR) Waiver program over the biennium for individuals on waiting lists in the community. These slots would be in addition to the 149 new MR waiver slots contained in the introduced budget to address the current community waiting list and the 110 new MR waiver slots to eliminate the urgent care waiting list for children under age six. In total 324 new MR Waiver slots will be added over the biennium to address the community waiting list. Language is modified to reflect the new slots. A companion amendment in Item 312 provides start-up funding for the establishment of community residential services to support the new MR Waiver program slots.)
