Explanation
(This amendment provides $1.0 million from the general fund each year and matching federal child care development fund dollars in lieu of federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) block grant funds for child day care subsidies. Use of general fund and matching federal child care funds will allow limited TANF funds to be used for alternative purposes such as homeless assistance, employment and training, and other programs for TANF-eligible individuals. This amendment also includes a technical language change to reflect the correct amount of child day care funding contained in the appropriation for this item.)
