Out of this appropriation, $50,000 from the general fund is provided to support the costs of agreements among the Department of State Police, the Department of Motor Vehicles, the United States Department of State, the Immigration and Naturalization Service, and other federal law-enforcement agencies to facilitate the interchange of law-enforcement data and related information concerning those aliens residing in the United States who hold or apply for Virginia driver's licenses, commercial driver's licenses, temporary driver's permit, learner's permit, motorcycle learner's permit, and special identification cards to ensure that such persons who apply for these documents are lawfully entitled to do so."


Explanation
(This amendment provides $50,000 from the general fund in the first year to DMV for agreements with federal law-enforcement agencies to determine the legal status of aliens applying for licensure within the Commonwealth.)
