Explanation
(This amendment provides federal TANF funds for competitive grants to support faith-based and community initiatives to strengthen low-income families. This funding is in addition to the $1.2 million in TANF funds already allocated for such purposes. This is a recommendation of the HJR 683 (2001 Session) Special Task Force Studying Ways Faith-Based Community Service Groups May Provide Assistance to Meet Social Needs.)
