Explanation
(This amendment restores $750,000 each year in federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) funding for five Centers for Employment Training located in Abingdon, Alexandria, Lynchburg, Norfolk, and Roanoke. This funding was eliminated in the development of the 2002-04 biennium base budget for the Department of Social Services. In addition, $750,000 the first year and $1.0 million the second year is provided to enhance services at existing sites and add a sixth site in Richmond in fiscal year 2003 and a seventh site in Newport News in fiscal year 2004.)
