Explanation
(This amendment provides additional funding necessary for additional assisted living residents who become eligible for an assisted living supplement as a result of implementing a rate increase for the Auxiliary Grant Program. A companion amendment in Item 357 increases the auxiliary grant payment from $833 to $998 per month ($958 to $1,147.70 per month in Northern Virginia) in fiscal year 2003. Another amendment in Item 325 funds for the impact on Medicaid eligibility. This is a recommendation of the Joint Commission on Health Care.)
