Explanation
(This amendment reduces the general funds available for the Indigent Health Care Trust Fund which were originally intended to match hospital contributions on a 50 percent basis. The Joint Commission on Health Care completed a review of the fund in 2001 and found that hospital contributions to the fund totaled $3.7 million instead of the $6 million reflected in the Appropriations Act. This amendment also reduces the nongeneral fund appropriations to more closely reflect current contributions by hospitals.)
