Page 249, after line 43, insert:
"C.1.  The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall develop the necessary changes to the Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS) Plan to provide prenatal, delivery, and postpartum services for eligible pregnant women upon the adoption or enactment of federal regulations or law allowing states to provide such covered services.  The Department shall develop the necessary amendments to the budget needed to provide such coverage if it is allowed prior to the 2003 Session of the General Assembly.
2.  If such regulations or laws are not enacted prior to the 2003 Session of the General Assembly, the Department of Medical Assistance Services shall prepare a waiver request to be submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to permit the use of Title XXI funding to provide such coverage, and submit the necessary amendments to the Governor's 2003 introduced budget to provide for such coverage beginning July 1, 2003."
