Page 241, after line 12, insert:
"D. Out of this appropriation, $6,000 the first year from the general fund is provided to the Dickinson County Department of Health."
Companion Language Amendment:  “The Department of Health shall develop and implement a program to reduce the rate of asthma-related hospitalizations, and to facilitate more effective management of asthma.  The program will place primary emphasis upon, but not be limited to, children between the ages of 0 and 18 years.  The Department of Health will use this appropriation to leverage additional resources through partnerships, in-kind contributions from stakeholders, and grant writing for additional private or federal funding.  The State Health Commission shall provide the State Board of Health with an initial report concerning the development, implementation and effectiveness of the program prior to December 1, 2001.

(This amendment provides funding to the Dickinson County Department of Health to conduct health screenings of indigent persons.)
