"Out of this appropriation, $2,196,750 the second year from the general fund is provided for the Community College Incentive Scholarship Program.  The funds will be used to award incentive scholarships, as set forth in §23-220.02 through 23-220.04, Code of Virginia

to eligible students attending comprehensive community colleges, domiciled in Virginia, who are second-year students attending full-time in a designated technical training program, and who have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. The scholarships shall cover full tuition and required fees for one year for eligible students. The Virginia Community College System shall consult with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership in annually designating the technical training programs for which scholarships may be awarded."

Explanation
(This amendment provides funds for scholarships for about 1,500 full-time students through the Incentive Scholarship Program. The program was established to encourage students to enroll in programs with high demand for their graduates.)
