Authority: Title 9.1, Chapter 1, Article 8, Code of Virginia.


A. Pursuant to Title 9.1, Chapter 1, Article 8, Code of Virginia, $180,420,342 the first year and $192,688,925 the second year from the general fund is hereby appropriated for purposes of Financial Assistance to Localities-General (Other Services), to be apportioned to localities with qualifying police departments in accordance with the provisions of Title 9.1, Chapter 1, Article 8, Code of Virginia (House Bill 599).


B. Funding of the increase of $11,645,466 in the first year and $23,914,049 in the second year from the general fund for payments to localities operating police departments is contingent upon the passage into law of the provisions contained in Enactment Nos. 2, 3 and 5 of Part 5 of introduced House Bill 30/Senate Bill 30 of the 2004 Session.


C. For purposes of receiving funds in accordance with this program, it is the intention of the General Assembly that the Town of Boone's Mill shall be considered to have had a police department in operation since the 1980-82 biennium and is therefore eligible for financial assistance under Title 9.1, Chapter 1, Article 8, Code of Virginia (House Bill 599).
