A. This Item includes $225,000 $127,563 the first year and $225,000 the second year from the general fund and $225,000 the second year from nongeneral funds to monitor water quality in the Elizabeth River. These funds shall be used to establish toxins analysis capabilities with the purpose of analyzing ambient water conditions in the Elizabeth River, collecting biological samples, and monitoring the performance of proposed best management practices. The source of the nongeneral funds is from dredging royalties collected by the Marine Resources Commission pursuant to § 28.2-1206, Code of Virginia, and deposited into the Marine Habitat and Waterways Improvement Fund.
B. Out of this appropriation, $30,126 the first year from the general fund shall be used to match U.S. Army Corps of Engineers funding for cleanup projects and wetlands restoration on the Elizabeth River.
