A.1. Out of this appropriation, $331,593 the first year and $331,593 the second year shall be provided from the general fund to continue a statewide respite care initiative for the elderly and persons suffering from Alzheimer's Disease.
2. Out of this appropriation, $250,000 the first year and $500,000 the second year from the general fund shall be transferred to the Virginia Respite Care Grant Fund authorized by § 2.2-716, Code of Virginia, to provide grants to community respite care organizations.
B. Out of this appropriation, $185,000 the first year and $185,000 the second year shall be provided from the general fund to support adult day care services at the Oxbow Center in Wise County.
C.1. Out of this appropriation, $500,000 the first year and $500,000 the second year shall be provided from the general fund to support local programs of the Virginia Public Guardian and Conservator Program.
2. Out of this appropriation, $100,000 the first year and $100,000 the second year shall be provided from the general fund for the administration of the public guardianship programs and for no other purpose.
3. Out of this appropriation, $8,500 the first year and $5,000 the second year shall be provided from the general fund for activities of the Virginia Public Guardian and Conservator Program Advisory Board, including, but not limited to, (a) paying expenses for the members to attend four meetings per year, and (b) during the first year, bringing a nationally recognized expert in the area of public guardianship to educate and advise the Board regarding Board activities, functions, and duties. Any unexpended balance for this purpose on June 30 of each year shall not revert to the general fund but shall be reappropriated for expenditure for the same purpose in the succeeding year.
4. Out of this appropriation, $15,000 the first year shall be provided from the general fund for an independent evaluation of all Virginia Public Guardian and Conservator Programs through a contract with the Center for Gerontology at Virginia Tech, to be conducted between July 1, 2000, and December 1, 2003. Any unexpended balance in this item on June 30, 2001, shall not revert to the general fund but shall be reappropriated for expenditure in the succeeding year.
D. Out of this appropriation, $67,000 the first year and $67,000 the second year shall be provided from the general fund for the Norfolk Senior Center.
E. Out of this appropriation, $25,000 the first year and $25,000 the second year shall be provided from the general fund for the Korean Intergenerational and Multi-purpose Senior Center.
F. Out of this appropriation, $122,500 the first year and $122,500 the second year shall be provided from the general fund for the Jewish Family Service of Tidewater.
G. Out of this appropriation, $100,000 the first year and $100,000 the second year shall be provided from the general fund for a companion care pilot program to be administered by Mountain Empire Older Citizens, Inc., the evaluation of which shall incorporate the use of performance measures.
