"F. Out of this appropriation, $2,491,000 the first year and $12,000 the second year from the general fund is provided to effectuate the provisions of House Bill 658 of the 2024 General Assembly. Of the first year amounts in this paragraph, $1,000,000 shall be used for for voter education; $80,000 shall be used for centralized RCV (RCTab); $70,000 shall be used for statewide software licensing; $1,241,000 shall be used for voting system updates; and $100,000 shall be used to hire a project manager. Second year amounts reflect costs for statewide software licensing."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $2.5 million over the biennium from the general fund for the Department of Elections to cover any costs associated with House Bill 658 of the 2024 General Assembly, which requires the implementation of Ranked Choice Voting for primary elections.)
