"H. Out of this appropriation, $250,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided to the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services to create a grant program to support five community-based volunteer organizations like the Village model, that provide caregiver services in their communities."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $20,000 the first year and $250,000 the second year from the general fund to the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services to create a grant program to support five community-based volunteer organizations like the Village model, that provide caregiver services in their communities. These services include transportation, check-in calls, shopping assistance, light maintenance, and other non-medical services. The Village model allows older adults to age in place in their communities. Volunteers and paid staff provide support for seniors and connections to affordable services.)
