"4. Out of this appropriation, $500,000 the first year and $500,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided to contract with the Virginia Association of Free Clinics and the Virginia Telehealth Network to conduct a pilot program to treat sub-acute behavioral health needs of uninsured patients at free and charitable clinics and integrate behavioral health safety planning into the clinics' workflow.  A report shall be made on the pilot program to the Chair of the House Appropriation and Senate Finance and Appropriation Committees on the number of patients in participating clinics that are screened and served, the care provided in including behavioral telehealth services and if referrals were made to other community providers by December 1, 2025 and upon completion of the pilot program."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $500,000 each year from the general fund to the Virginia Association of Free Clinics and the Virginia Telehealth Network to conduct a pilot program to treat sub-acute behavioral health needs of uninsured patients at free and charitable clinics and integrate behavioral health safety planning into the clinics' workflow. Language requires a report to Chairs of the House Appropriation and Senate Finance and Appropriation Committees on the pilot program.)
