Explanation

(This amendment removes language that requires local volunteer fire and rescue and emergency medical services personnel to submit fingerprint cards for background checks on volunteers applying to be a member of local EMS agencies. The process has changed significantly to obtain background checks and the submission of fingerprint cards is now outdated. This amendment removes funding provided to the Department of State Police for the purpose of conducting background checks for submitted fingerprint cards. Since this process is outdated, this funding is not needed. Funding continues to the State Police to conduct background checks using updated processes.)
