Page 72, after line 14, insert:

"H. Included within the appropriation for this Item is $100,000 the first year from the general fund for the State Board of Elections to establish and supervise a pilot program for the secure return of voted military-overseas ballots by electronic means from those uniformed-service voters who are members (i) of the active or reserve components of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States who are on active duty or (ii) of the National Guard on activated status and who are deployed outside of the United States, pursuant to SB 559 of the 2018 General Assembly Session.".



Explanation

(This amendment provides $100,000 the first year from the general fund for the implementation of responsibilities under the Uniform Military and Overseas Voters Act; secure return of voted military overseas ballots, as outlined in SB 559. This amendment is contingent upon final adoption of SB 559 by the 2018 General Assembly.)
