Explanation

(This amendment provides an additional $334,737 each year from the general fund to provide independent living services for people with disabilities including (1) individuals who wish to transition from nursing facilitates and other institutional settings to community-based residences with supports, (2) individuals who are at risk of institutionalization and need additional supports to remain in the community, or (3) youth who were eligible for individualized education programs under section 614(d) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and who have completed their secondary education and otherwise left school and are transitioning to post-secondary school community living. Services would be provided through Centers for Independent Living.)
