"B.1.  Out of this appropriation, $2,000,000 the first year and $2,000,000 the second year from the general fund shall be used by the Department of Health Professions, to be used for the development, maintenance and operation of a Track and Trace Program (pursuant to Va. Code§ 54.1-2527 et seq.), from the Department of Homeland Security in addressing the opioid crisis, recognized as a national emergency, and shall coordinate the application for such funds with the Department of Criminal Justice Services as deemed necessary to draw down any such funding.  

2. As a condition of this appropriation in paragraph B.1. in this item, the department shall annually seek federal grant funding, to be used for the development and maintenance of a Track and Trace Program (pursuant to Va. Code § 54.1-2527 et seq.)

3.  As a condition of this appropriation, a request for proposals seeking qualified contract vendors to develop, maintain and operate the Trace and Track Program (pursuant to Va. Code § 54.1-2527 et seq.) shall be issued no later than July 15, 2018 and shall require that such contract vendors have prior experience with and have provided track and trace services in Virginia to Virginia pharmacies."

(This amendment provides $2.0 million from the general fund each year for a new Prescription Drug Track and Trace program.)
