Explanation

(This amendment provides $50,000 from the general fund each year in additional funding for the Line of Duty program to reflect the enactment of House Bill 472 of the 2018 General Assembly Session. House Bill 472 adds cancers of the colon, brain, or testes to the list of cancers that are presumed to be an occupational disease covered by the Virginia Workers' Compensation Act when firefighters and certain employees develop the cancer. Adding these cancers to the presumption cause will result in individuals being diagnosed with these cancers becoming eligible for the Line of Duty benefit.)
