Explanation

(This amendment provides $210,150 the first year and $420,300 the second year from the federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) block grant to provide cash assistance for individuals who were denied eligibility due to a felony offense for possession of a controlled substance. In order to be eligible for assistance, the individual must comply with all obligations imposed by the court and the Department of Social Services and he or she must be actively engaged in or must have completed substance abuse treatment. Funding is contingent upon the passage of House Bill 945.)
