"O. Out of this appropriation $500,000 the first year and $500,000 the second year from the federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families block grant shall be provided to the Department of Housing and Community Development for housing assistance for low-income families to transition from public housing to areas without high concentrations of poverty.  The funding may be used to provide assistance with down payments for home ownership or security deposits for rental units.  The Department of Housing and Community Development shall report on the implementation of the program by December 1, 2018."  



Explanation

(This amendment provides $500,000 each year from the general fund for housing assistance for low-income families to transition from public housing to areas without high concentrations of poverty through grants to help with home ownership or obtaining other rental units. The source of the funding is the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families block grant.)
