"2. Out of this appropriation, $2,583,048 the first year and $2,583,048 the second year from the general fund is provided for grants to establish Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training programs and assessments centers in rural communities.  Of these amounts, $657,648 each year shall be provided for CIT training programs in six communities and $1.2 million each year for CIT assessment centers in six communities."

(This amendment provides $2.6 million from the general fund each year to establish CIT training and assessments centers in six rural communities. This funding builds on prior initiatives to establish 32 assessment centers in areas that implemented CIT and underwent planning for the assessment centers. This is a recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee to Study Mental Health Services in the Commonwealth in the 21st Century.)
