Out of the amounts in this item, $1,100,000 the first year and $1,100,000 the second year from the general fund is provided for the Veteran Entrepreneur Capital Resources Program within the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority. The agency shall develop guidelines to provide veteran entrepreneurs of any era access to below market, low-interest loans up to $50,000 to start a business, with terms not to exceed 48 months."



Explanation

(This amendment would provide funding of $1,100,000 from the general fund the first year and $1,100,000 from the general fund the second year to establish the Veteran Entrepreneur Capital Resources Program within the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority, including 1 FTE and up to $100,000 each year from the general fund for administration. The authority would be directed to develop guidelines to provide veteran entrepreneurs of any era access to below market, low-interest loans up to $50,000 to start a business. Loans would be repaid in 48 months.)
