Explanation

(This amendment reduces funding $2,250,000 from the general fund the first year and $2,150,000 from the general fund second year and $981,729 from the nongeneral fund the first year and $981,729 from the nongeneral fund the second year and 12 FTE's from the general fund and 6 FTE's from the nongeneral fund for the Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity and transfers the majority of the small business development responsibilities and associated funding, including but not limited to funding and FTE's for the Small Business Jobs Grant Fund, the Small Business Investment Grant Fund, Small Business Financing Authority, and Business One-Stop Program to the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. All small business certification programs and responsibilities, FTE's and associated funding, including those resources allocated for small women and minority business certifications, shall remain with the SBSD. There is a companion budget amendment to the VEDP budget item.)
